New Species of Cave Fish was Found in Leye-Fengshan Global Geopark
from october 2017 to january 2018, in order to further understand the biodiversity of fengshan park in leye-fengshan global geopark, a number of animal and plant experts conducted a biodiversity survey in fengshan county, and a special survey about fish was conducted in fengshan county.
lan jiahu, the ichthyologist, conducted a thorough investigation of the rivers, streams and caves in fengshan park. a total of more than 800 fish specimens were collected, 55 species of fish were identified, and 13 species were rare and endemic. a total of 5 species of cave fishes were found, they are plateau loach, fork back sinocyclocheilus grahami, small-eyes sinocyclocheilus grahami, lingyun sinocyclocheilus grahami, the first class of ling loach category of tiao loach branch. it was identified that the first class of ling loach category of tiao loach branch is a new specie to be published (picture 1).
in the process of biodiversity survey, guangxi shantu science and technology co., ltd. based on the 3s technology and the information of experts’ survey, combing the basic situation of fish resources in fengshan park. the map of rare and endemic fishes in our area was drawn (picture 2). it provide scientific basis for the plan of leye-fengshan global geopark and conservation of fish resources.
